Lavender Beauty Rose

Lavender's Theme Song (sung to tune of "Jennifer Juniper" (with apologies to Donovan))

Lavender Beauty Rose,
Hair of silk and pearl,
Lavender Beauty Rose,
Gorgeous, gentle girl!
Do  we love her?
Oh yes, we do so!
Does she love us?
Gee, we sure hope so!
Purrs say yes, you're happy here, sweet girl,
Lavender Beauty Rose!

Sullen Beauty Queen

Lavender is our outdoor girl.   She just loves bounding around outside!  Insects!  Plants!  Leaves!   Wind!  Other cats!  You name it, she thinks it exists especially for her personal entertainment.  She's completely guileless, and other fauna in the neighborhood seem to understand that she represents no real threat to them.

She's fluffy and soft, and her pale coloration makes her difficult to photograph, although if the light hits her just right, she literally sparkles.  A "dilute torby," a form of calico with just a hint of tabby markings, she looks rather like she was dunked in bleach.  We almost named her Pastel, but Lavender seemed a more accurate description of her color.  In certain light, she looks almost lavender.   She loves her name, too, responds promptly if you use her complete name when calling her.

Her tail is her pride and joy.  It's gorgeous, thick and fluffy, and she swishes it enticingly when she's in the mood for affection.  I've been threatening to rent her out as a housecleaning aid, since she regularly dusts surfaces with it.  Hmmm, cat careers...
